We Are
The Plug
The Plug Report was born out of frustration. Frustration that urban culture — the most influential culture on the planet — was being covered by outlets that didn't understand it, didn't live it, and didn't respect it. We built something different.
Our Mission
To be the most trusted, most connected, and most real voice in urban entertainment. We don't do fluff. We don't do PR packages. We report what the culture actually cares about, with the credibility and speed that it deserves.
The Founders
Joshua Mohammed
Joshua Mohammed is a veteran of urban media with deep roots in hip-hop culture. With years of experience covering the music industry's most defining moments, Joshua built The Plug Report on the belief that urban culture deserves world-class journalism. His nose for breaking stories and his relationships across the industry make him one of the most connected voices in the game.
"The culture doesn't need gatekeepers. It needs a plug."
Cyrus Igono
Cyrus Igono brings the creative vision and digital strategy that has made The Plug Report one of the fastest-growing platforms in urban entertainment. A creative director and content strategist with a background spanning digital media, brand building, and video production, Cyrus is responsible for the look, feel, and direction of everything you see on the platform.
"We're not reporting on the culture. We ARE the culture."
